Post Subject: Rope/weed cutters

Hello, I cruise a small canal that always seems to have it`s fair share of floating weed and debris. I have seen rope / weed cutters that fit on the prop. Have you or readers had any experience of these and are they any good. Thanks Peter.

There can be a safety issue if you need to revolve the prop by hand when removing large items from the prop. Otherwise the reports I have heard are positive. Be aware that you may not have enough space between the prop and outboard shaft bearing to fit one so check that first (otherwise you may have to buy a new, longer shaft!). Tony Brooks
