Post Subject: which canal for a detour

We are going on a narrowboat holiday along the Four Counties Ring soon. With two weeks we have enough time for a detour through Birmingham. We already know the New and the Old Mainline canals. So for the detour we are thinking about the Wyrley & Essington with Rushall Canal or through the Netherton Tunnel along the Dudley Canal, Stourbridge Canal and back on the Staffs & Worcs. We are planning with four days for each of the two possibilities. Can anyone give some decision-help? Greetings from Germany. Jan

Post Subject: which canal for a detour

Just so you know that you have not been ignored. I hope some readers will give their suggestions but my PERSONAL choice would be the second possibility because you have lots of country, the possibility of a visit to the Black Country Museum and paid for trip into the Dudley tunnel, The Netherton, and the Bratch.
