Are there any lpg or 240v/12v/lpg fridges on the market that can be fitted in a narrowboat

Post Subject: Gas fridges

Are there any such fridges on the market - yes. Will they fit into a narrowboat - yes. Will the boat then pass the BSS inspection - it depends (I know one that failed). Are they approved for use on a boat - no. Are they compatible with the RCD declaration - no (because they are not CE marked for marine use). Will the insurance cover damage caused by such a fridge (not being approved for boat use) - ask them. I quiet like gas fridges (never use them on 12V unless the engine is running) but the uncertainties have caused me to install a 12v compressor fridge. If you can find a secondhand Dometic room sealed gas fridge WITH flue kit they are approved for boat use. Tony Brooks
