Post Subject: Lister LPW 4cyl injectors

I noticed gas bubbles escaping around the base of some of the injectors on my Lister. I have replaced them with recon units fitted new sealing washers an cleaned the seating as best I can and tightened the clamps to the correct torque. The engine restarted just but there is now more gas leaking than before. Has anyone got a tip on how to get an airtight seal

Post Subject: Lister LPW 4cyl injectors

I can not be much help here because I rarely have had such problems on engines and I do not have any decent reference materials for your engine. It seems from http://www.winget.co.uk/document/LISTER%20PETTER %20LPW-LPWS%20PARTS%20MANUAL.pdf as if there are two distinct types of injectors fitted to the LPW range each with different fixing methods and further differences withing each type. It also seems that the sealing washers and other parts may not be interchangeable between types so I think the first thing to do is to get your engine number and double check that you were supplied the correct washers. If your local Lister agent gives you little confidence then ring Marine Engine Services at Uxbridge who do mail order. Please be aware that I may well be wrong about this so it is important to check with a Lister agent. Tony Brooks
