Can you tell me the rules regarding the times I can run the engine

At any time while navigating. BW say only between 8pm and 8am whilst moored and that would include generators. However if you are well away from other boaters and habitation it is extremely unlikely that anyone will worry if you do it outside these hours but remember sound carries at night over still water and much will depend upon how noisy the engine is. Marina and mooring operators may have other rules. Tony Brooks

Sorry - mixed my ams and pms up. You should NOT run engines when moored between 8pm and 8am so you can run engines between 8am and 8pm. TB

You can run your engine at any time whilst navigating. The "rules" apply to when you are moored up.
