Post Subject: hire a GRP cruiser on narrow canals

Hello, we often hire Narrowboats and would normally prefer the steelbarges. Now we are thinking about buying one and as we live in Germany, a GRP-cruiser might be an alternative as it would be tossable with a car. The Viking 23 might be interesting for us, but we want to find out how it is like to cruise the narrow canals with a GRP cruiser. Can you name hire-companies which have GRP cruisers in their fleet? Most hire fleets based on rivers will have some GRP boats and many will have no narrowboats at all but I suspect you will have difficulty in finding anything as small as that. The narrow canals are not ideal waters for GRP boats, although there are a fair number of privately owned ones in certain locations so I doubt that you will find any GRP Cruisers for hire on canals - unless any readers know differently.
