Post Subject: Car Stereo

Would a car stereo system be a good idea for a narrowboat? If so do you have any tips on which type to get and on installing one?

Make sure you buy a well known and reputable make because they all now require a permanent feed from the battery (bypassing the master switch) to maintain their memory and that includes the security code. Cheaper sets often require a much higher current than expensive ones. How to fit it is not really within the scope of the forum because it has a number of parts, cutting the built in furniture or hanging below a surface, the wiring, speakers and aerial fitting. You may find the instructions that come with the radio are adequate but if not email me a photo of where you intend to fit it together with some idea about how confident you are at wiring etc. to Tony@tb-training.co.uk and I will try to give a better idea.
