Post Subject: INSURANCE for a liveaboard

When you boat is your home who do you insure with? Standard House insurance would cover you and the family should your home be destroyed by fire say. Not only would the home be rebuilt but you would be provided with temporary accommodation. Is there any Insurer that will provide the same level of cover for a liveaboard do you know?

As far as I am aware all the major marine insures offer this type of cover. However I am sure it will be at a higher premium and they might impose certain conditions. Try phoning those that advertise in the magazine. However you may find that some who specialise in budget prices may decline to quote. Tony Brooks
