Post Subject: Aluminum panels for leaking wooden superstructure?

I have a 1971 narrowboat with a wooden top. A friend thinks that if I have aluminum panels fitted to the sides of the top, this will stop, at least temporarily, the leaks to due rotting wood. What do you think? PLEASE REPLY TO ME AT HUNTJANIN@AOL.COM. Thanks!

I regret that this is a public forum and if you want private advice then you need to find another source. I will reply in the manner you request but will not do it for anyone else. Tony Brooks
