Post Subject: Stainless Steel Water Tank - leaking!!!

You can write "help, help" as much as you like but unless you give more details I doubt anyone can help you. How do you know it is the tank leaking? Are you sure it is not the take off, filler or breather hoses? Why is access so limited? Where is the tank located on the boat? Assuming that it is in the typical position on a narrow boat and is located under the front well deck floor I fear that you may have to strip the built in furniture and lining from the front of the cabin for the full width of the boat. That should then provide the access through which the tank was fitted originally and this should allow you to inspect the filler and breather hoses and make sure the leak is not through a locker or well-deck floor (depending upon how the boat is constructed). Once you have that access you may have to take the tank out so a specialist welder can inspect and advise on a suitable repair. If the tank is made of thin stainless he might advise a new tank made of thicker material. Tony Brooks
