Post Subject: Engine Oil Cooler

Hi We have a Ford 2720 4 cylinder diesel engine marinised by Beta Marine. The engine oil cooler has split and we are having trouble getting a replacement. Several people have told us that we don't actually need an engine oil cooler, just the gearbox one. Is this the case do you know? Please help, getting desperate. Alan

Post Subject: Engine Oil Cooler

What do Beta say? I can not go against their advice. Have you looked at the ASAP Supplies website. If this is in a narrowboat that is rarely used on rivers then I agree that you may not need an oil cooler. However if this is a wide beam boat or it is used extensively at high powers on rivers etc. then it may well benefit from the cooler. Tony Brooks
