Post Subject: Non slip paint/surface

Tony, What are my options regarding non-slip surfaces. Can special paint be purchased, an additive or grit?

All of those are available. One product I know, Protectacoat, contains ground up rubber granules. Some floor paints already have the non-slip additive mixed in while you can buy special fine "granules" to mix with paint of your choice or to sprinkle onto the wet penultimate paint coat. I have also used sieved dry sand in a similar manner. If sprinkling something onto wet paint please make sure that you have already built up the correct number of coats and then when dry brush off the surplus and apply at least one more coat.
