Post Subject: Header Tank

Hi Tony, I have a 1 litre pressurised header tank fitted to my Yanmar 2 litre engine cooled by a skin tank. I need to replace the header tank as the neck fitting has become chewed up. The only suitable tank I can find is of 5 litres capacity. Would this be ok to fit?

That will be fine except you would then need a bit more antifreeze if you fill it to the usual marking. This sounds like a tank from marine sources, have you thought about looking at one from a scrap car or truck?
