Post Subject: Paintwork

Can anyone please advise how to remove the residue left by sunscreen which we have inadvertently manged to get on the cabin side paintwork whilst working on out boat. It has left white stain areas which appear to be as difficult to remove as silicone. Would a gentle application of T-Cut solve the problem?

That would be what I tried first and if that did not work then try a fine rubbing compound or cutting paste. I suspect that for price reasons you may be bets off with using Halfords own brand. Take care and be gentle because coach paint is far softer than today's car paints so do not abrade all the paint away to primer. In bad cases of staining 1000 grade wet and dry paper followed by compound might be required.
