Post Subject: solid fuel heaters in grp canal boats

Are there any do's and don't's about installing a mixed solid fuel stove such as a Stovex in a GRP canal cruiser ? eg would it be too heavy ? is there a problem if the boat has a petrol outboard ?

I can see no way in which a solid fuel stove can meet the BSS requirements if the boat has a petrol engine. As you keep on about a petrol outboard this may well be a very small boat so I am unwilling to give any further opinion. There is also the ventilation requirements that such a stove will impose.
