Post Subject: Fuel available on the canal network

Can anybody tell me the general availability of 28 sec oil on the waterways for use in heating systems? as 35 sec oil or worse Gas oil will ruin many a fine heater in no time!! Many thanks-Stuart

I would say about zero unless you count walking to hardware & farmer's type shops to buy paraffin and possibly the odd garage that sells paraffin that also happens to be adjacent to the canal. I think you may be well advised to contact Eberspacher and ask them if you can have a copy of the report they produced last year concerning the apparent unreliability of such heaters in marine use. You may find that your installation is lacking. However I would still prefer to run the things on the 28 second oil if I was forced to have one. Tony Brooks
