Post Subject: Stained woodwork

Hi there, I've got some woodwork that has a little dark staining from Mildew. It's not too bad, and I'm thinking that I'll be able to sand it and maybe bleach it to remove the darkness, then varnish. Can you recommend an appropriate bleaching agent? Thanks, Jeff

Once you have removed the varnish try ordinary cheap "budget" bleach and wash off well. If that does not do the job the usual remedy is Oxalic Acid which may be sold a s wood bleach or wood stain remover. AS its an acid take care to protect your cloths, skin & eyes. Tony Brooks
