Post Subject: BMC 1.5 Diesel

Hi Can you advise me if the crankshaft pulley nut on a BMC 1.5 Diesel is LH or RH thread please? regards Paul Jackson

From memory ordinary right hand thread but probably very tight and impossible to undo unless you have the starter out with a big screwdriver jambing the flywheel teeth. In extremis and totally at your own risk I have freed them in the past by using a large ring spanner or socket plus long knuckle/breaker bar on the nut with the other end of the bar or ring spanner against something solid like an engine bed. Pull stop control and spin the starter ensuing if anything flies off you are well out of the line of fire. Not the best practise and all at your on risk. Tony Brooks
