Post Subject: Use of diluted bleach on board

I am aware bleach should not be used in toilets. However, can you clarify what effect diluted bleach (used to clean tea stains from mugs/washing up bowls)etc will have on the sink drainage pipes. Also the effects from an environmental point of view. Many thanks.

It may kill microbes in the sink drain and thus avoid smell and assuming normal use I very much doubt it will do any environmental damage. You should already have diluted it and once it hits the canal and a boat has gone past it will be diluted thousands of times to one. Tony Brooks
